What Is Emotional Wellness?
Emotional wellness refers to our emotional health, which includes how we think, feel, and act in our daily lives and it’s strongly linked to our physical health. Our emotional health affects the way we interact with others, form and maintain relationships, and perform at work or school. The more emotionally healthy we are, the more likely we are to live longer and stay healthy, as well as experience less stress and worry (as well as have fewer symptoms of depression). 1) Watch An Inspiring Movie
Watching an inspiring movie will increase your emotional well-being, as well as improving your outlook. If you can’t think of a recent movie that made you feel positive or empowered, look for one that fits your mood. High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart attacks and strokes, so anything that can help lower it should be seriously considered. One meta-analysis of 35 studies looked at meditation’s effect on hypertension (high blood pressure) and found significant reductions in both systolic and diastolic pressures, among other benefits (Journal of Hypertension). Meditation also has positive effects on mental health and emotional wellness. When practicing mindfulness or meditation, we often think that our mind is blowing up with thoughts. In fact, meditation creates more space between thoughts—and therefore makes us more aware of them when they arise.
4) Write In A Journal
Research shows that forming strong social bonds can help to improve your mental health, which in turn can help lower your risk of physical illness. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to join an exclusive club or attend a special class in order to meet people and build friendships; all it takes is a little effort on your part. So go ahead and talk to that person you sit next to at work every day—you never know what might happen! If you spend most of your days at work or behind a desk, try fitting in a hobby that gets you out of an office setting every now and then.
