Wilfred’s story began in 1886 when it was created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Doyle was known for being the author of the Sherlock Holmes stories, but he also designed clothes. The clothing line would eventually be called Wilfred, after his son with whom he shared his initials.
The brand’s most popular products are clothing, workwear, uniforms and footwear. Their products were worn by many British rock bands throughout histories such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Wilfred is even credited with making their first pair of jeans in 1969 which has become one of their top-selling pieces ever since. Who created Wilfred?
The Wilfred company was originally started in 1886 when it was designed and founded by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who also created or pioneered what we now know as modern style. This made him one of the early pioneers to establish what we now call style. Wilfred became popular not only because its designs appealed but also because they were functional. For example, their designs had practical elements like different hidden pockets.
What is Wilfred fashion?
Wilfred fashion is an English clothing brand founded by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sir Arthur wanted to create something completely new; he felt that other modern styles were not complete nor developed enough yet. Thus, he invented what we now know as Wilfred fashion. His first designs started rather simple, usually just ribbons and bows on feminine dresses paired with very fitted skirts; yet soon enough they became more complex with styled pleats around his skirts which also extended out from under his clothes instead of just ending near their hips like most modern skirts do today. These styles have become staples in Wilfred’s designs ever since, even after founding member Doyle died 20 years ago…
Where does the name come from?
Wilfred Fashion’s name comes from its founder, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In his short story Silver Blaze, he describes his fictitious racehorse’s trainer as being a man small, alert, dark-eyed and sharp-nosed whom one would not mistake for anything but an elderly country practitioner. That is how many remember Doyle describing himself. And it is with that in mind that many believe he named his clothing company after himself.
